A Look Back at 1998
Slovakia made its Eurovision Song Contest debut in 1998, entering the competition with two songs: "Don't Give Up" by KatarÃna Hasprová and "Modlitba" by Marcel Palonder.
Semi-Final Results
In the second semi-final on May 12, "Don't Give Up" placed 18th out of 25 entries, failing to advance to the final. "Modlitba" performed better, finishing 17th out of 23 entries.
Final Performance
On May 9, Slovakia competed in the grand final with "Modlitba," placing 25th out of 25 participating countries. Despite not achieving a top spot, Slovakia's Eurovision debut marked an important milestone in its musical history.
