Wolfpack Makes a Splash with Record-Breaking Start to Season

Raleigh, North Carolina - The NC State Wolfpack men's swimming and diving team made an unforgettable mark on the sport on Sunday, January 26, 2024, at the Willis Casey Natatorium in Texas. In a dazzling display of athleticism, the Wolfpack quartet of Antonio Djakovic, Luke Pfyffer, David Curtiss, and Justin Ress broke the American record in the 200-yard medley relay.

The previous record of 1:24.36 had stood for over a decade, but the Wolfpack team swam a blistering time of 1:23.97, setting a new national standard and etching their names into the annals of swimming history. Their exceptional performance showcases the team's dedication and the incredible depth of talent within the program.

In a sport measured by thousandths of a second, this record-breaking achievement is a testament to the Wolfpack's relentless pursuit of excellence. The entire team, along with Head Coach Braden Holloway, celebrated this momentous occasion with pride and determination. They are poised to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the pool.
